API 650 & API 653 Tank Calculations
Implementation of the engineering standards, that allowed inspectors to seamlessly transfer from raw data collection, into report generation.

Some implementation details are omitted — this is an internal product built for a specific client industry.
The previous inspection workflow relied on paper forms and manual re-entry, which meant delays, transcription errors, and no real-time visibility for the office team.
The problem
Field technicians recorded tank inspections on paper, which then had to be manually re-entered into spreadsheets — slow, error-prone, and with no live visibility for the back office.
The approach
Built a structured, offline-capable inspection app with guided forms matching the physical inspection checklist, backed by a FastAPI service that syncs data straight into the company's reporting systems.
My contribution
Led the frontend rebuild and designed the sync/conflict-resolution logic for offline-first submissions, alongside the supporting API endpoints.
Key challenges
Designing a reliable offline-first sync flow for technicians working in areas with poor connectivity.
Modelling a flexible inspection schema that could adapt to different tank types without a schema migration for every change.
Outcome & impact
Cut average data-entry time per inspection significantly and eliminated a whole class of transcription errors, while giving the office team real-time visibility into completed inspections.
~40%
faster inspection turnaround
0
manual re-entry steps
